Cleanroom

The cleanroom is the center of activity and production. It is designed in a modern, wide-open “ballroom style” which can be reconfigured to accommodate new products and production techniques.

Manufacturing tools - over 1,000 individual pieces of equipment, some as tall as two stories and some costing over $100M dollars – are supplied with electricity, ultra-pure water, gases and chemicals via a complex network of wires and pipes coming up from the sub fab through a raised floor.

An overhead Automated Material Handling System transports wafers between tools to complete the production steps in fabrication of circuitry onto a wafer.
